a few weeks ago, i decided i was going to rush this year. however, out of the 6 days, there will be 3 where i have classes and cannot attend the events. is there a way to work around this? it's unlikely that everyone going through rush is completely free of classes during those times, since some days the events start really early.

has anyone been through something similar to this? help please!

Hokie,
It is difficult for me to understand three days of conflicts. The schedule was set to have the least amount of class conflicts as possible.

Orientation will be from 8 to 10 at night.
Conversation Day I 5:30 to 10:55 at night
Conversation Day II 5 to 11:10 at night
Six Party Day Friday No Classes
Four Party Day Saturday No Classes
Preference Sunday Morning No Classes
Bid Night Sunday Night No Classes

Do you have three days of night classes? If you cannot attend three days of recruitment I think it might be wise for you to discuss this with someone at the Panhellenic office.

Amy,
It is my understanding the vast majority of classes do not meet on Friday at SC. I checked the schedule of classes and found a few early discussion sessions.

Current students please advise if this is incorrect.

i just emailed them about it. on friday, i have organic lecture and bio quiz from 1-3. :(

the person that replied to my first email makes it sound like sc really wants me to participate (no refund lol). they are currently trying to work this out with me. i’m hoping for the best!

I pmd you when you first asked the question. An older daughter had a one day conflict. Panhellenic tried to get her into the houses that she was missing. They weren’t able to get her in everywhere. The houses from the night missed all dropped her immediately. (Please note: school is importent. This class met once a week and was very importent to my daughter, so I am not second guessing her decision at all.) The truth is that these parties are the times that the sorority women meet you and everyone else who is rushing. It wouldn’t be fair to other pnms to (because there are numbers to cut) retain one woman when they know/like someone who they have met.

There are no easy answers to this dilemma. But the truth is that they aren’t going to put a private rush on for you.
