Financial accounting can be a tough course. In fact, accounting is a hard major. You should consider getting a tutor who is an accounting major.

It seems like the professor can make all the difference. S took Financial Acct. with someone who really did not want to be teaching the class - he normally taught accounting systems courses. He didn’t explain things well even when S went to him for help. He struggled to get a C.

Then S took Managerial Acct. with an adjunct who was awesome! He is a CEO of a big company, was bright, enthusiastic, helpful, could explain the material well, gave them real life situations and experiences. S understood the material, it made sense and he was able to achieve an A in the course. It wasn’t that this course or the tests were any easier - it was that the material was taught in a way he could understand.

Can you withdraw from the current class and take it next semester with someone else?

D1 is taking her first accounting course with business majors. As a math/Econ major she struggled with few concepts initially. She went to few office hours and found it helpful. She just took the midterm and did very well. It’s not a course she enjoys.
