Struggling with my senior year schedule. Suggestions?

As of now, these are the classes I’m sure about. The blanks indicate spots I need to fill in:
AP Calculus AB

PE
AP Lit and Comp.
Lunch
Orchestra
AP Statistics

I’m not 100% sure what I want to do in college, but I’m thinking maybe a major in finance and a minor in computer or electrical engineering. I may also just major in electrical or computer engineering. Still trying to decide. My options for classes are these:

  1. AP Computer Science
  2. AP Macroeconomics/Microeconomics
  3. AP Macro/Finance
  4. Genetics

At my school, both Macro and Micro are separate one semester classes, so I can take macro and not take micro. Instead I would take a semester of finance. I have no experience with programming, but I would really like to learn and get exposed to it, so I wanted to check out AP Computer Science. However, I could also take some programming classes online. I don’t necessarily have to take the class over the summer. I don’t necessarily have to take AP Computer Science in school. I would like to though. The problem here is that the timings for micro and computer science clash, so I can only take one or the other. Like I said, I can take macro and finance and computer science or take just computer science or just macro/micro. Also, I’ve heard that computer science is really hard at our school, and if I did take it, then id be taking 3 math classes which I’m a little wary about. Genetics is just for fun. I’m not particularly interested in it, but I think it’d be a good change and different from all my other math centered classes.

My classes don’t necessarily have to be centered around my major ideas, but I’d like them to be somewhat related so I can get an idea as to what I’d like to do.

What do you guys think? Computer Science or Micro/Macro? Should I self study either?

Thanks!

If you are leaning towards finance as a major, take AP Micro/Macro. Currently the only class on your schedule that could help you is AP Statistics. AP Computer Science won’t help at all with an EE minor, and you already have AP Calc AB to count towards your minor.

Do you have any colleges in mind? What kind of credit will they give you for the exams corresponding to these classes? I would recommend taking AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics because you’ll be prepared to take two exams and you’ll probably get college credit for two classes. They should fulfill some general-education requirements even if you don’t major in finance.
