Stuck in a deep maelstrom of turmoil and worry

As someone who deeply inspects every aspect of my academic record, I dread the time of the year when GPAs are recalculated. This year, however, is particularly worrisome. So here's my question:

If I get a C this year in an honors class, would it incredibly hurt my chances of getting in UNC? It is one of my top choices, and this C will be, so far, the only blemish on my grades so far (all As and one B). Everything else in terms of extracurriculars and whatnot are solid, though I'm afraid that it'll be this one C that will screw everything up.

I would absolutely love feedback on this. Thanks!

One grade in one class is not going to destroy your whole application. A low GPA wouldn’t help anything, but if you take care of business in all of your other classes, it won’t be that one grade that your application hinges on.

Stop worrying; it’s out of your control now.

Eight students from my class of 137 got in to UNC. Only two of us had no C’s- a couple of them had several C’s. UNC looks at more than the GPA. SAT and class rank.
