Student Health Services

So I tried calling the health office twice and got put on hold for about 18 minutes both times. All I am wondering is what services I get, if I do not have SHIP. I waived it and I was wondering if only students with SHIP get the free counseling, dental etc. Or if my insurance will just cover it and I can still get the same service at the health offices. Will I need to find a doctor in the area that accepts my insurance (Blue Shield) in order to get new prescriptions for my medication.

I was going to email my questions but I couldn't find the Student Health Office's email anywhere =/.

Does anyone know???

Thanks in advance!

wow, i didn't even think about this when I waived the SHIP. I'd like to know this too. But to answer one of the above questions.. i am pretty sure you have to find a doctor in the area for prescriptions and anything else you may need medical wise (general practice, er privelages.. etc). But as for the free services, i'd really like to know the answer to that too.

on the tour they said they have their own temporary doctors who work at the school..

im guessing you can use your own insurance to pay for their services

UCSB Student Health Service

contact blue shield and they should give you a list of doctors and physicians (etc.) in the area.

if any have blue cross PPO:
there's like 2 docs within .5 miles of the ucsb health office
