Hi,

I'm searching for any new students entering Walnut Hill School for the Arts (Natick, MA) during this Fall 2012, or anyone returning, or even people who were there. I'm really happy to go there and super anxious too. I will be attending grade 10 and studying Opera.

How is the School? The Academics? Music classes? The Food ( lol)?

I know it's weird, nut I'm transferring from a French School (note: my mother tongue is French - so do forgive me if my English looks weird sometimes), and I'm a bit confused about the American School system. I mean like, how does it work? What do you do or learn? :/

Well, I hope to meet some of you and hope you can clear me up on my questions.

Thanks ! :)

Hi!

I am a current voice major at Walnut Hill!! I am entering grade 11 and have been there for half a year already! I love it! The school is great! You make a ton of great friends that you will have for the rest of your life, and the activities around campus are all really fun! The academics are different than most since you only are required to take 2 academic classes per semester, plus as a music major we have music theory which counts as a 3rd academic class! The academics are top notch, and you really learn a lot in each and every class that you take. Music classes are very good! Especially the classes that we get as voice majors! We have more classes than the other music majors. Twice a week we have voice master class, we have diction, and voice rep. class. Plus with solfege and music theory (and a few other requirements) we are kept pretty busy! The food wasn’t the best this past year, but they are getting an entirely new food service next year so it should improve a lot!

As for the school system since it is a private school is it a little different than most American schools. It’s kind of hard to explain, but it is super easy to get used to! I was the most nervous about that when I switched half way through the year, but it was a smooth and easy transition! :)

Can’t wait to meet you in the fall!!

Hey WNHsoprano,

Nice to meet you too!
I’m happy they’re changing the food service ( hahahahahhahahahahaaaa).

Anyways, I’m also delighted to hear a bit about the school I mean, even if I spent almost 28 hours in total stalking the school website, I’m steal a bit lost in the American School system. It’s okay with the “busy part” ,being busy is way more better than being bored!

I hope to meet you this fall too. :)

Thanks again!

Opps mistake: still x)
