Students going to college far from home

thanks mythreedd, my girls sound just like yours. I had to laugh about planning outfits together--they do this every night ): People often mistake them for twins, and they love it! They are a year apart.

My wise sister counsels me to let her fly--she may surprise us. As one poster mentioned, a lot can happen in a year, and she may change her mind by graduation time. In my heart, I know I am wrong to limit her choices so early in the game. Thanks for posting.

Where do your kids go to school? Our son will be going to Pomona, and while thrilled, we need to do some practical long-distance planning (we live in CT).

New service this year at Harvard will make life a little easier for returning students. The student run company will deliver boxes to the dorm room. After they are packed, they will pick up the boxes and store them for the summer, and place them in the new dorm room in the fall. It saves D from trying to pack and ship, or pack and haul to new house storage.

USC has a service like this & charges about $35/LARGE box. I've heard good things about it & they have several companies competing for students' business.

The further the better I say.
God if I could only get D to choose University of Alaska, or Hawaii…!

Since she refused either of those we’re actually we’re thinking of moving to Europe in her first semester…I wish I could be there to see the look on her face the first time she goes ‘home’ for holidays!..

La Contra…your screen name says it all. But you are pretty funny!
