Hi there!

This has been bugging me because I just found out, of the 5/13 people from my school who applied to cal, 3/5 paid a business (and it is an actual business) to write the essays for them. These essays are not cheap as they are around 3000 dollars per ESSAY (I know, crazy!!!). I was wondering, is it possible that those students somehow took the chances away from the remaining 8 students who applied from the same school?

while i hate to break it to you, that kind of essay ‘consulting’ isn’t really as scandalous as one might think. i know many people who are ridiculously qualified for schools lik cal and ivy league schools who would have written good essays anyways, but chose to have intensive essay consulting from businesses for three times the amount you’ve mentioned.

and im not sure how much the UCs even look at essays in the first place. My essay was frankly quite cliched and I didn’t pay as much mind to it as I should have, and i was still accepted into all my UCs. if your classmates were statistically qualified and had some good extra curriculars, i don’t think the essay was what got them in (probably a waste of money, though)

filthy rich people wasting ton of money as usual

don’t really see anything wrong with it tho
