I wanted to let everyone know how great the Smith study abroad program is. My daughter is in Paris this year and the professors at the French universities have been on strike since the beginning of the second semester. Smith has gotten my daughter and her classmates tutors so that they can continue with their studies. My daughter says it isn't quite the same as attending classes, she misses the give and take with the other students, but her tutors have been excellent, she's learning a lot, and is very busy. In contrast, a friend who goes to another liberal arts school and is on a "commercial" study abroad program is just waiting for classes to begin and is very bored. Smith seems to be doing its best to overcome the difficulties of the strike. Spring break is in two weeks and it doesn't look like the strike is going to be over by then. Classes go to the end of May.

It's differences like this that show what a great school Smith is.
