Study Abroad Student Finding Off-Campus Housing

Hello everyone,

I am currently studying abroad through the end of June and will be returning to UCLA in the fall of 2011. My question to you all is this--I need to find off-campus housing for the 2011-2012 school year (I´ll be a 4th year), and I´m slightly stumped as to how to go about doing this while not being physically present in LA. Do any of you have any suggestions or tips on finding housing? Websites, things to do, etc.? I´m really not picky, just looking for a place to stay.

Also, I know that the normal route for this sort of thing is to go through friends and have them find the apartment for you. Pretty much all of my friends are graduating at the end of this year though, so I´m out of luck there.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated!

You can call up some apartment complexes in Westwood or LA and ask to be put on the waiting list. You will have to turn in an application. Just google the city you want to live in and pull up a list of apartments and read the reviews on them. Do you know if you will be living alone?
