I have a question I thought someone might be able to answer. I've been looking at the UR website and came across the study abroad pages. It says there that for UR sponsored programs the regular tuition and room prices would be in effect along with FA. Which programs are the UR sponsored ones? All the ones they have on the site under "Programs" or just the ones that does list another organization like IES?

Any other financial based info not found on the site would also be greatly appreciated. I'd be interested in finding out more about the feasibility of such a thing! :)

Thank you!

The study abroad office is very helpful and you can easily call or email them for clarification. My daughter did an IES program and our standard tuition and room prices applied, as did her merit money. We did not have any FA so cannot answer about that.

I may be wrong with this, but I’m pretty sure I got this right… All the study abroad programs listed on the UofR study abroad page are UR sponsored. If you want to go somewhere that’s not on the list, for example, then that’s considered a non-UR sponsored study abroad program.

Yeah, I think you’re right gingeralelover. Thanks! :)

I went abroad on an IES program and my financial aid wasn’t affected. I actually was able to get quite a large refund from my financial aid because the meal plan I had abroad was much less expensive than UR’s meal plan. This gave me some extra money for trips during my time abroad.
