<p>hi sushma i would really appreciate if u can guide me about how to go for undergrad courses in engineering... and whats the best place to apply .. thanks</p>

<p>hey sushma, even i would like if u can guide me about how to go for undergrad courses in engineering... and whats the best place to apply.</p>

<p>dear Sharry in
Just a word of caution! Germany might need you to be proficient in German. A few years ago my son went there to do an engineering but he returned home in the first few months as he found German language to be quite difficult and that was quite a difficult time for us. I hope now things have changed. Please check thoroughly and be very careful taht the medium of instruction is totally English or otherwise your proficiency of technical German must be at a degree level -comprehension of language must be quite excellent, I feel.I wish you all the best in your studies. regards</p>

<p>HI guys , i would like to know abt the procedure to get admission in some German university for masters in mechanical engineering… and also suggest me some universities</p>

<p>I was very surprised to read that an Indian organisation is trying to recruit Indian students to Germany under the assumption that all Masters programs are taught entirely in English.</p>

<p>While it is certainly true that Germany welcomes foreign students and does not have tution fees in most states, the conditions at the universties are not too favorable. The numbers of German students has increased considerably in the last few years, so classes are crowded and the student-professor ratio is not pleasant. Students are expected to do a lot of independent study and the rate of students, who flunk is high, especially in science and engineering classes. </p>

<p>Moreover, since I know a large number of graduate students in German universities, I must say that the majority of programs are not taught in English yet. In the last few years some programs have switched to English, but it is definitely a small number. There are some mixed programs, but an advanced knowledge of German is still necessary.</p>

<p>So, anybody interested in German universities should study their homepages in detail .</p>

<p>im from germany and i must agree. in the last decades the political system has set down all standards in the education system , the equipment is miserable and studying is nothing special there everyone can study there so the universities are overflowing. you have the possibility to go to an american university which have mostly an excellent prestige !
Use it !</p>

<p>Hello to everybody.</p>

<p>I am new member. My son is doing BE final, and want to pursue MS. Pl let me know , MS in Germany is a good option. He is a mechanical engineering student.</p>

<p>hallo!
sorry if u feel offended but i am in confusion and u can help me out with our valuable views.
I have done my Bachelor’s and now got admission offer for MASTERS OF SCIIENCE(MS) from Uni KIEL,GERMANY.
Plz anyone share ur views about the university. -ve reviews are most welcome. Since i dint have good academic record but still i manage to get admission. So this is my concern whether the college is valuable or not. SInce i belong to medium family i am not much strong financially. So plz share ur reviews which could be very much valuable for me.</p>

<p>But one thing i wanna know is,what are the job prospects in GERMANY? </p>

<p>PLease share ur views…
WAITING FOR RESPONSE…</p>

<p>Hi,
replying to ingeniero.
The job prospects for scientists and engineers are very good in Germany. There has just been a new law which intends to make it easier to hire foreigners. Many companies who cannot find qualified staff are actively recruiting in other countries, especially within the EU. No paperwork is required for EU applicants.
Kiel is a nice city with a good university. German universities do not really care much about ranking and almost all of them can give you a good and respected qualification. And, they are free, no tution at all.
However, like people have mentioned before they are not easy academically. You have to study hard and pass exams. If you fail that is your very own problem. There is very little hand-holding or help from anybody. Many German students fail and so do many foreigners. So, you should have a good knowledge of German and be a good student. In Germany getting into university is easy, graduating is not.
Good luck to you.</p>

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>Thanks to ‘worriedmom777’ you information was very useful. I am currently planning to do my masters ( mechanical engineering) in Germany. Finished IELTS and A1 level in German language.

<p>Hi Everybody,
I am planning to go to Germany for MS in Computer Science for Summer intake 2013 .
Please let me know the good universities and about the job prospects after course completion.</p>

<p>Please share your reviews.</p>

<p>Thanks ,
Sundae87</p>

<p>Hi,
you will not find many German universities high up in the international ranking systems. That does not mean that you cannot get a good education there, but you have to be an independent and disciplined worker. Contact time with professors is rare and limited and many lectures are crowded.
In your field you might want to think about a Fachhochschule (University of the Applied Sciences), at least if your plan is not to stay in the academic field for employment. At the Fachhochschulen, classes are small and so is the drop-out rate. After the Bologna reforms employment chances of University and Fachhochschul graduates are pretty much the same.
Job prospects in your field are excellent and Germany is hoping to recruit more people from abroad. The important thing is: Know the German language. Even if most people do understand some English, you have a hard time living and socializing if you do not understand German.
The big cities and also the small university towns here are very liberal and cosmopolitan. Germans have tendency to put down their own country when it comes to their “welcome culture”, but I have found them to be as open as any other society.
So, go for it.</p>

<p>hey hi,
i am messaging just because i want to go to germany for my masters . And i am in the 7th sem (Last year) of mechanical engineering.</p>

<p>my QUERY is :
" My prospected aggregate percentage are about 62 to 65 at the end of 8th sem .
please tell me that, is it okay with this percentage to apply in german universities ???
And which universities are good with this kind of percentage, like high chances of getting admission.</p>

<p>mail : " sanghvi.friend@********** "</p>

<p>please guide me through this.</p>

<p>Thank You.</p>

<p>You should wait for the end of your undergraduate degree before you apply.
Then you can send in your academic certificates and your papers that prove that you know the German language well enough to be able to cope with the teaching at a German university.
Any Master’s course is competitive and you will be competing with the best students from undergraduate degrees. Everybody else has already left the university by then and that is true for about 50% of the people who started the course.
But you should still try and improve your grades in your final year.</p>
