Studying abroad in Spain for 5 Weeks

I will be studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain for 5 weeks. I will be living with a host family whom will provide 3 meals a day during weekdays. Taking into account that I will not be spending much money on food, how much money should I bring with me to spend?

Also I am still thinking about visiting my friend whom will be studying abroad in Paris at the same time. What would be the cheapest way to get to Paris? Train? Bus? or Airplane?

Hi,

I have a great experience of studying abroad in Spain. I hope you will also enjoy studying abroad in Spain. In my point of view, it is better to get Paris by plane.

Bus will be cheapest, plane will be easiest. Busses in Spain aren’t the best but they’re pretty cheap in comparison to everything else.

What are you looking to buy? Souvenirs won’t be very expensive (unless you’re looking for really nice things, most gifts can be kept under 10 euro).

I’m going to try to save as much money as possible so I won’t be spending much money on souvenirs. If I do buy souvenirs, it will probably be postcards. I’ll probably be looking to spend at the most $300 on souvenirs.

Hey ccuev001,

Plane - Ryan Air - I hate it, but for 60 bucks or so (if you book early) you can get around a lot of Europe. I have a friend who traveled twice between Germany and Spain she paid 20 euros! I swear! But she may be the exception - she always goes that, and every one else pays a bit more.

Again, I am not a big fan of Ryan Air, but the fares are pretty awesome - just watch out for traps - 1 ounce over your bag limit, and they charge you a ton.

Also, I don’t think they weigh your carry on - but once you are past the gates (and beyond the point of no return, so to speak) they seem to pay much more attention to your bag - an inch to big - voila! Another “supplement” or “surchage” - we always jokingly call them fines.

Anyway, look up Ryan air - you’ll find it.

For Seville, since you paid for a host family, no need to worry about food meals (would be around $40 - $70 a week, depending on how much and what you eat.

Otherwise, weekends - around 20 or 30 dollars a nite (more or less, depends on you). During the week, a few caf
