Studying for ACT and the SAT 2 at the same time?

Hey guys,

So i’m a rising senior and i plan to take the act again in sept and probably october aswell. On the june ACT (my first real test) i got a 26 so i definitely need to study for that. I think that i can also make time for sat subject tests aswell since the summer is pretty much my last opportunity to prepare for these standardized tests. I was planning to take Math level 1 but i heard that level 1 is worth less and has a harsh curve so i was considering preparing for level 2. The only problem about level 2 is that i haven’t taken trig or precalc. For math level 2, is there alot of trig and precalc questions? Also i was thinking of self studying some of the math concepts. could i get a good score even if i didn’t take trig and precalc yet? Which math level subject test should i take? Should i study both the ACT and SAT 2 at the same time or should i take them one at a time?

Thank you

@HopefulKid17 Math II certainly has trig/pre-calc questions, so I suggest taking Math II only after you have completed pre-calc. I don’t remember the topic distribution (it’s been many years since I’ve taken Math II) but you can look that up online. From what I’ve heard, 43 or 44/50 is usually good enough for an 800; if you want to guarantee an 800, you should aim for answering nearly every question correctly.

Improving your ACT is certainly not a bad idea, especially if the schools you’re targeting are more selective; high SAT/ACT scores are usually expected.
