Studying in Switzerland and Australia

Should i apply to Eth zurick university in switzerland and the ANU in australia. Are they worth applying as i have applied in US And UK. What i mean is that - do i have a realistic chance of getting in these top universities with a 41 IB predicted and is the environment of education and job opportunites in these countries better than US And Uk?. Also will there be a language problem in studying in Switzerland? as i only know English. i was also wondering about the scholarship opotunity for international students in both universities, is there a fair chance of an international student to get a scholarship at these two universities and how hard it is to do so?

ETH uses English, but you really, really need to learn German to survive comfortably in Zurich. The Swiss speak a dialect (but fun to learn - Swiss people are everywhere and you’ll have an instant friend if you do) which is difficult to understand even as a native German speaker, but most everyone speaks regular German as well as some English and French. When you get into the countryside nearby it’s going to be mostly German. You get the older occasional person who only speaks Swiss-German but everyone understands regular German. Regular German is far more useful and isn’t horribly difficult to learn when you are surrounded by it.

Employment opportunities are going to depend on your citizenship and demand for your major and your skill set and competency. Graduate degrees are generally more employable than undergrad ones. You will be less desirable in Europe especially if you are not multi-lingual.

ETH and ANU are among the top universities in the world, and you won’t go wrong at either one.

Switzerland is expensive to live in because of the strong Swiss Franc and relatively high housing costs in Zurich so that may also be an issue for you. There is excellent public transit, and fast bus, rail and air connections so you won’t need a car.

Zurich and Canberra are completely different types of cities. ANU is an outstanding university, but some find Canberra is a bit sleepy (unless you are interested in government). Also–as you probably know–the Australian academic year is opposite that of the northern hemisphere. It generally starts in February. Visit first, if you are serious about attending.

Thanks for replying guys.
Forunately i know how to speak basic german as i am doing german ab in IB so then i might be able to understand and converse a bit.
Also if i am planing to studying in these universities what type of scholarhip opportunities are available in Zurich and ANU and what are the requirements to even get one? do we have to apply early for scholarships or can we apply in same application deadline period and would be atomatically considered for scholarships?
I really need you help guys…!!
