Studying SAT vocab over a large span of time

So I'm using Direct Hits core vocab book to study for my upcoming SAT in december and practice tests in the Blue Book, however, it is 5 months away and with the amount of vocab words in this book, I'm not sure if i will be able to remember it then past these few months, because I can easily read the whole book in less than a few weeks.

Do you guys have tips to approach this book and how to study the vocab, so that I can still remember it 5 months later?
Thanks

Usually I use Quizlet or some other flash-card based websites. Just keep on reviewing them and I’m sure you’ll memorize the vocabulary. Also try integrating it into your daily conversations. Sounds weird but it does help.

I’m not too much a fan of flash cards, however I think using them in conversations wouldn’t be too bad (i’ve tried it myself with friends, and they thought I was crazy though)

Any other suggestions guys? Thanks

Direct Hits and Essential 500, just go through them and look at it like couple weeks prior.

Quizlet, but don’t use flash cards, use LEARN mode. Great for long-term retention.

hello I actually have direct hits too and I know how to remember the words. Essentially, just star the one’s you don’t know and take a few weeks to internalize those. Once you feel you know the one’s you didn’t know just keep practicing. You can actually review the whole book in like 20 minutes every 2 days or so. That’s what I did and now I know the words really well. Then again, I’m taking the SAT in October.

If u made a quizlet, please send me a link :)

I did, but I rather you purchase the book^ (plus it is against the ToS to share the work of someone else’s (the authoer), over Quizlet)… they will remove all my typing

Use a flashcard program called Anki. I know you said you were not a fan of flaschcards but neither was I. But this program ensures long term retention and only requires a maximum of like 5 minutes per day. I would suggest putting in all of the words you don’t know slowly so when the program is figuring out the intervals in which you will be tested, you won’t be overwhelmed. It is a great program and you should definitely download it and give it a try.
