Studying Suggestions?

Hi, I just joined today and and wow this place is helpful!
I took the ACT for the first time as a junior (C: 31, E: 34, M: 27, R: 35, S: 27) and I'm kind of disappointed with my math and science scores. They're my weakest subjects so I expected them to be lower, but I really want to work on bumping them up! I worked on the gray practice test that my school counselor gave me, and I feel like it helped me feel more comfortable and know what to expect come test day. But again, I am determined to do better on science and math! I am planning on buying the red ACT prep book asap. But that brings me to a couple questions -
If I retook the ACT in February and April, do you think the month inbetween of studying would be enough for the results I'm hoping for? Or should I just sign up for the April test date?
I have a job and work 25+ hours a week, so time can get stretched. If I set aside an hour a day to study on the ACT, would that be adequate to achieve the results I want? I would be ecstatic to get 30+ on my science and math.
Do you have any studying suggestions that worked well for you?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really hoping I can increase my score and would love to hear your guys' ideas! Thanks!

Have you taken practice tests under actual timed/length conditions? Sitting for 4+ hours and specifically timing it. These sections fall at the end if I recall and maybe that you are really just tired at this point…
