“Oh, no! MIT and other schools look at the individual’s ability to help and contribute to the community? They care about kindness and giving??? I’ll work on that now so I can get in.”

Maybe I’m too cynical, but I think most people have this mentality…they generally aren’t that candid about it, though. Lol.

"Freshmen Year: A+ in all Honors classes
Sophomore Year: A+ in all Honor and AP classes
Junior Year: “I’m taking every AP my school has but I’m worried that I might get an A in an AP class, do you think I should drop the AP?”

I’ve seen something like this a couple days ago!

"We applied to just 6 colleges. I honestly think anyone who applies to more hasn’t done enough research or visits. Also, we applied to so many because of merit aid. Don’t look at any private schools or even think of doing humanities – engineering at Bama is the way to go! "

Okay, I kid, I kid but seriously, whenever i read any of the forums that the adults frequent, this is ALL I ever see.

Parents on CC:
“I’m older than you and am therefore exceedingly wise and mature.”
spends days debating with teenagers on an internet forum
“ROLL TIDE.”
“My S, D, A, F AND G turned down Harvard for our flagship.”
“But I’m not a helicopter parent.”
“I wonder if your attitude was revealed in your college essays…”

“Help! I can’t decided between Harvard, MIT, Princeton and Yale! Oh, nooooo.”
“I didn’t get into H so now I must attend Brown. How do I live?”
“Rejected from Cornell. Tuft’s Syndrome.”
