I lol’d. It’s so true though.

no one replies to thread bump bump bump please help me!
I’m only applying to the top 20 schools
I got an 800 on 2 of the sections, but I 750 on the other so I have to retake it
If I do this this and this can I get a 5?

Should I retake a 35?

“Should I retake a 2390?”
“Omg I haTE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION LOOK AT THESE BLACK PEOPLE.”
“Chance me for the Ivies?”
“Cornell isn’t a real Ivy.”
Ivy day Harvard rejected me AND IT’S BECAUSE I OFFER NO DIVERSITY. It couldn’t possibly be because thousands applied and the acceptance rate was below five percent this year. NO. IT’S BECAUSE I’M WHITE."
“If a whale snorkeled my 4.0, a rooster blackened cure cancer invent Jesus and Obama 23 APs, seven self studied, can I make it into Princeton?”

“I don’t like Harvard because it’s an Ivy! It’s just a better fit for me than every other school!”

11:00 a.m. - makes thread
11:05 a.m. - BUMPPPP
11:10 a.m. - Bump! ZOMG why doesn’t anyone respond?

Also, people tend to brag irrelevantly on other people’s threads. Like they’ll post their stats when the OP didn’t ask about their stats.

“How do I get my teacher to add points to my grade for no particular reason? I worked really hard, so I deserve an A!”

“Harvard sucks and is overrated!”
evil laugh One less person to compete with!

“I was walking to class and this white girl waved her hair at me.”

“My son has a 3.7 and I believe he was rejected because he’s white.”
I asked that mom if she thought maybe his GPA had something to do with it and she was dead set on believing it was because he was white.

“I want to go to an Ivy League for:
the prestige
the money
the jobs
the atmosphere…”

In short, I do not know how it will go for you, but I’ll just say, enjoy, as I’ll enjoy my not very selective college~I have a solid plan :D

@waitlistftl
“Predicted GPA: 4.0
Predicted SAT: 2400
Predicted AP scores: 5s on 10 AP tests
Predicted ECs: Olympic level for 4 sports, nobel prize, cure for cancer, single-handedly took out several dozen armed terrorists with an old algebra textbook”

god this made me laugh

This often happens in the Class of 2014 thread.

someone posts senior year schedule asking for advice and how to adjust it

First response:
“Your senior year schedule looks good. Here’s my schedule:”

Everyone in the thread proceeds to post their senior schedules

“Ohh my God my son got into all of these colleges and got millions of dollars from each of them for aid. But school x is only giving him 100,000 to go there so he’ll be in debt by like 20,000 dollars after 5 years. They should not expect this of him or us. He needs more!! He should be getting a full ride so he doesn’t have debt because he doesn’t deserve it!!”
A parent that I saw

“Oh no, I just got a B on a test. My life is ruined!”
“I’m not in that one AP class even though I’m already enrolled in all the other one’s my school offers. I’ll get rejected by all colleges and will fail even community college even though I’m the president of six school clubs, founded four new one’s, traveled to Africa to a year and built shelters for the homeless, found the cure for cancer…” … blah…blah…BLAH… It seems that these CCers have low self confedience and are judge themselves based on their grades and the standards of college admission officers. If they are solely motivated only to attend these colleges and feel ruined for life if they don’t get into elite private schools. The best advice I can give is that the grades you get in school and in college have absolutely nothing to do with motivation/ life goals for the future and success, which is dependent on the person themselves.

“Oh, no! MIT and other schools look at the individual’s ability to help and contribute to the community? They care about kindness and giving??? I’ll work on that now so I can get in.”

Saw that. For real. This person COMPLETELY missed the point.

Link or it didn’t happen ;)

“I understand that colleges like for applicants to show passion and individuality through their extracurriculars. Exactly what extracurriculars should I do to demonstrate this passion and individuality?”

Niquii- I tried but couldn’t find it :frowning: I’ll look later, but for now, I have a stack of homework waiting for me!

“14 AP”
Pretty self-explanatory. Those people in there are not in their right mind.

“Wow this is a good post, please read”

I think some of them are in this thread…

“My mom said I shouldn’t get my hopes up for Harvard with my 3.5 GPA, so I’m running away to a family that really loves me”

“Haha only 8 AP classes in 2nd grade? What a noob. How did you even pass the first grade?”
