Hi, I'm a pre-med student at Michigan State and am thinking about transferring to U of M next year. Assuming I can keep a 3.5 here at Michigan State (what I have right now), would it be a bad idea to transfer to University of Michigan, assuming I get accepted? Thing is, I'm a pre-med student and I need to keep at least a 3.5 in my undergrad in order to be competitive for med schools, and I'm a bit worried about it falling below a 3.5 if I were at Michigan since it is obviously harder with its sciences (I'll only have physics left for my pre-requisites), though I'm not sure exactly how much harder it will be. I've had some friends tell me physics is tough but some tell me it isn't so bad. Specifically I'm referring to life sciences physics, 135.

I feel that I'll be much more motivated and will thus work harder at Michigan than I did at MSU, but do you think it'd be a bad idea to transfer to Michigan if I have a borderline pre-med GPA considering it is much more difficult? Granted I do like the campus at Michigan much more than here at State and think I would enjoy it more, despite not having nearly as many friends since I've made quite a few over here (though I wouldn't mind starting over). The main concern, though, is my med school chances so that's the main thing that's holding me back. What do you think?
