pre-med

hi everyone, im new to this forum but i have a question that i hope can be answered here.

i have a girlfriend at loyola university in chigago who is in the pre-med program. i am intending on going to UofM to study engineering and my girlfriend is wondering if she transfers to UofM's pre-med program, will she get completely destroyed by it, or will she most likely be able to buckle down and handle it.

i was also wondering if she transfers and is able to get say a 3.4gpa, where she would get a 3.7 at loyola, would it still help her get into med school to have that UofM degree even with a lower gpa.

thank you to all who post

Medical schools are very numbers driven. A 3.7 GPA will generally carry more weight than a 3.4 GPA. Of course, a 3.4 GPA in electrical Engineering from say Cornell or Michigan will probably weight more than a 3.7 GPA in Psychology or Sports Management from a third rate university. But I doubt your girlfriend will major in EE and Loyola is not a third rate university. If she is very serious about Medical school and is maintaining a 3.7 GPA at Loyola, I would recommend she stay and not rock the boat!
