<p>I know it sounds crazy, but I know I can do it. I messed around a lot in the past in community college, but finally decided on what to do and have rocked recently. However, due to my mishaps earlier on I have less than a 2.0. After this semester, I will have 31 transferable units and my GPA will be much higher with academic renewal, which will remove my bad marks.</p>
<p>I want to bang out the other 29 units in the spring and summer of 09 so I can do a transfer in the Fall of 09, otherwise I'd have to wait another year!</p>
<p>My question is would schools even consider my application with its current status? I know I can fulfill the IGETC within that time period, but if I brought that sub 2.0 at application time to 3.0+ GPA would they consider me? How does it work?</p>
<p>You would be a good applicant to most of the UCs with at least a 3.0 (you should look into signing a TAG). Just keep in mind that the schools will see that you've done an academic renewal.</p>

<p>Are your friends at UCs or CSUs? I have never heard of a UC admitting when a student had less than 60 units the spring before entry.</p>

<p>hi guys, i am kind of in the same situation as the person who started this thread. I had a horrible year of cc and now im on track. i am embarrsed to say that my gpa is about 2.1 right now and i am thinking of applying this nov. but the catch is that this semester (fall 08), i am taking 17 units and i am taking some easy classes that I have planned to get A's in and raise my gpa to exactly 3.0. I've calculated everything and if i get all A's, I should get a 3.0 by the time I do an application update in mid feb I think. So, is it okay for me to apply w. the horrible gpa and still be considered for admissions to UCI? i mean isn't it true that they don't look at cc students apps until jan or feb? but regardless of that is true or not, IS it a sensible thing for me to apply with 2.1? psych n social behav major isn't too hard to get into at uci, and also there are not too many pre reqs. Thanks to all in advance. please, give me some advice.</p>
<p>yo dude im on the same fricken boat u are! i was wondering the same thing cuz i really dont wanna wait another year to transfer!! im a communications major and i rheally wanna go to ucsb next fall, i know that they sometimes admit for winter quarter but not always depending on how many students they get for fall. my gpa as of now is a 2.6 and will hopefully be a 3.0 after this fall. im just kinda screwed cuz i go to pierce college and they dont offer any communication classes. i hope everything works out for us. where do u wanna go</p>
<p>They offer any comm classes that's sucks did u try taking online classes thru another cc. And ur gpa is better then mine, but u shud really try to get over 3.0 since ur at 2.6. In my case I'm takin 17units and have 2 get all a's. I wanna go to irvine or riverside if I don't get into irvine.did u try asking around on this forum foradvice?hopefully ppl will read this thread n give advice.</p>
