Hi guys. So, I was deferred from my ED school, and I wrote an email to admissions further expressing my interest and telling them about some new work experience and extracurriculars. I just need a subject line for the email and I have no clue what to put. Should I go for something creative and attention grabbing so they will actually open the email? or should I do something very formal?

I know it seems like a very small thing, but I really really want to go to this school and want to do everything I can to maximize my chances.

I would suggest just generally describing the purpose of your email. In your case, I would suggest:

“An update about my recent application changes”
“New information about my application”
“Application Update”
“New Extracurriculars and Activities”
etc. etc.

(would put your name & bday as well)

Don’t try to put too much effort in to the subject line. Most colleges will open all of their emails unless the subject line is egregiously awful or stupid. And you can also put in a couple sentences about your interest in the school later in the email (don’t do P.S.; shouldn’t be an afterthought).

Good luck!
