I am a high school junior and I just took two Subject SAT’s: Math Level 1 and Literature. I have been told that for these scores its better to only send the good ones (above 700). I got a 650 in Math 1 and a 600 in Lit. Are these scores going to hurt my chances of getting into college? I currently want to go to UCSB and I was wondering how these scores will affect my chances of getting in. Thanks!
Does UCSB recommend any subject tests for your intended major? If not, then do not send.
UCSB no longer requires SAT subject tests, but certain programs recommend particular exams and you can use subject tests to satisfy the “a-g” requirements listed above or strengthen your application by showing mastery of a particular subject. Specifically, at UCSB the College of Creative Studies recommends a SAT subject test related to an applicant’s chosen major. The College of Engineering recommends that all applicants take the Math Level 2 subject test.
