I have heard conflicting reports on the scoring scale. Do you have to get every question right to score an 800? I've heard people say no and yet on scale conversion charts the 800 cut off is 50 for math 1 and 60 for literature, which are the two I am taking.

Anyone know what the cut off for 800 is? Thanks

anyone have any ideas?

The scoring depends on the curve of the test, which differs for pretty much every single subject test.

Because so many people get perfect scores on math I and literature, those tests have very harsh curves or (as you noted above) no curves whatsoever. I would suggest switching to math II if you are taking or have taken pre-calculus, because the curve is much nicer and the test actually is not too difficult.

Hope that helps! :)

thanks for the advice, i have just brushed up on my old pre-calc book, do you have any suggestions for good revision books for math 2? or topics that are essential? I’m international you see

Make sure you are comfortable using your graphing calculator. It is essential for many problems.

Barron’s is good for math II if you want to overprepare. I’ve heard that Princeton Review is better for showing you the level of the test, but there are exceptions. I took it in November and even people on CC thought it was much harder than normal-if I had used PR I doubt I would have gotten 750+.

i’ll pick up a barron’s book too then, thanks for the advice!
