My D has very strong SAT scores. Her subject tests are ok but not as high. Would you send them or not? She is in-state with a very high GPA and plenty of rigor/ many AP classes. Her ECs are solid.
Obviously nobody is a guarantee at W&M but I don't think the subject tests add anything to her application. I don't know what could hurt more- not looking like she cared enough to send them, or sending them when they aren't in line with her SATs (math II is about 100 points below her SAT score, for instance).

Well, since W&M doesn’t require subject tests, I think it’s really up to you… If the scores do not add anything substantive to the application, then it’s a good idea to not submit them. Either way, I don’t think they will make or break your chances tremendously.

I took my Sat 2 and I am sending them. I have emailed or posted several concerns about testing and school work and I have been told the same thing hopeisfreedom just said. Not one element can make or break a decision. Schools pick their student by who would fit the most into their campus and contribute to their school in other words who can succeed in the class and outside the classroom as well

Subject tests are optional. We don’t expect them to be part of a student’s application so not sending them will not reflect poorly on anyone. That being said unless they’re super low it won’t detract from the application.
