hey guys! so I just took two subject tests yesterday to send to Georgetown and I just don’t feel confident in what I got. I cancelled the free score send just in case but should I just take them after the EA date and send better ones? does anyone know Georgetown’s policy on when is the latest they’ll accept subject tests for applicants?
also, I heard something about them taking AP scores in lieu of subject tests. does it matter if I can take subject tests and I don’t want to? how does that work if my AP scores are really good but my subject test scores suck and I don’t want to send them
Taken from their website:
"…candidates may submit SAT Subject test scores or Advanced Placement (AP) test scores or a combination of them. Scores are considered official if they are received directly from the College Board or as part of your high school record.
Please ensure the on-time arrival of your test scores for Early Action! Please do not wait for the release of October test scores to send your entire testing record to Georgetown.
Given the Early Action deadline of November 1, the Committee on Admissions recognizes that applicants may not complete their standardized tests by our deadline. While Early Action candidates must submit results from any completed SAT or ACT administration, those candidates planning further SAT, ACT, or SAT Subject tests are welcome to submit an Early Action application, which will be considered complete and reviewed in its entirety.
Candidates applying under Early Action who sit for additional testing after the application deadline can identify their future test dates on the Georgetown Supplement. Additional scores will be added to the applicant’s application file and can be considered in the case of deferral to the Regular Decision review period."
so you can either send in all your Subject tests (I mean all, not just the 2 tests for the same subject) or all your AP tests to fulfill the 3 subj test requirements, or if you decide to fulfill their req by using 2 sat subject tests and 1 ap score, you will need to send in all your tests from subjects test, with everything single subject test you have ever taken and all the AP test scores you have ever taken. They say that they do not participate in score choice, so you can choose this and that. It seems that this new adjustment makes it more expensive and rigorous for those who want to submit a combination of scores.
