I'm a student at the University of Chicago and I'll be interning in NYC this summer. I was wondering if NYU has a website that helps students find places to sublet.

For us UChicago students, if you want to find an apartment to sublet, you visit marketplace.uchicago.edu or uchicagoapartments.com.

Are there websites similar to those for NYU students to post their sublets so people like me can contact them? I'd rather use a university-affiliated site than browse craigslist. (also, I don't mean living in an NYU dorm over the summer, but in an apartment that is leased by an NYU student).

If you’re referring to this site, [Off Campus Housing Office](<a href=“Housing and Dining”>Housing and Dining) , it is pretty useless for me since I can’t look at listings because I don’t have an NYU login

thedude: most people use Craigslist, but actually, NYU has housing for the summer that can be used even if you are not attending; not sure if it’s filled up yet…look it up on the NYU Housing website…

It’s not the cheapest, but I think it would be less expensive than a sublet.

Why do you need an apartment owned by an NYU student? NYU does offer house-search services, but I think they are only available to NYU students.

Craigslist is honestly the most viable option, you’ll find tons of apartments open for the summer. Apartments near NYU are terribly expensive, but it’s only two months, so I guess it wouldn’t be that bad. A lot of places will let you just pay per month with no lease, so its not a problem.

My suggestion would be to find a one-bedroom in Brooklyn and commute to the city when you need to. You’ll save a ton of money which you can use to eat at nice restaurants, visit nice museums, see shows, whatever.
