I submitted my application for early decision recently but realized that I had probably done it wrong. I’m taking economics for only the first semester, so on my application I put:

first semester - in progress
second semester - NC

Same thing for government too, except it was switched around:

First semester - NC
Second semester - planning

I was told that for the semester I wasn’t taking it, I should have left it blank and put it as “–” . When I was filling my application out I didn’t know that a blank answer was possible, but apparently it was, you just had to leave it at “select a grade” and it would just appear as a blank/dash.

Great. I find out the day AFTER I submitted it. People are telling me that it’s okay because cal poly will get my transcript and understand what I meant. But since it’s early decision, I don’t they’re going to be getting my transcript until way after they decide to reject or accept me.

I tried emailing and there’s no response yet. We also tried calling the admissions process but it was busy. I’ll try again later, but what do you think will happen… I’ve never been so anxious and scared in my life… I don’t want them to see that by “NC” I received no credit and failed the semester or something…

Not to be fooled with - if important enough, I would call admissions and explain the situation, and ask how to remedy. There is no substitute for the definitive authority. It’s worth the persistence to speak to a person on the phone real time to get an answer to your question. I think the folks in admissions are there to help, not hinder, your chances of admission. Hope it works out for you.

As @swimdogmom said, call. The admissions department is very approachable and helpful. Just call until you get through and they’ll get it squared away for you.

I think I completely did my application wrong. I was looking at it and it says I have 16 semesters of a foreign language, when I really have 8 and multiple other similar mistakes. I am so confused because I inputted my community college classes differently (I.E 1301 and 1302 as two different classes). I don’t know how this will impact my GPA/Acceptance/Denial…
