I have been at my new university for a semester, and I just submitted a transcript from a previous university that I didn’t report on my application. There is nothing wrong. I didn’t have bad grades. I graduated. I just didn’t report it on my application, I got accepted, and didn’t worry about it until now. I just sent it in hoping that it will just get put on my transfer credit report without issues. I’ve heard horror stories about people hiding bad grades, and that the university checks the clearing house, but if the transcripts are turned in, should I be ok? There’s not financial aid issues or anything.
You should have sent it when you applied. But you didn’t, so you sent it now. Go check with the registrar’s office and make sure that it has arrived and find out if you need to do anything else to make certain that your file is complete. If you have any other random college transcripts out there, get them sent too.
Just be ready to throw yourself on the mercy of the academic dean. At some universities, “forgetting” to send a transcript can get you expelled. Every application form makes it absolutely clear that all transcripts are required.
Thank you. That’s what I was afraid of.
Been there myself with a missing transcript when I applied to a grad program. Fortunately all was forgiven once the paperwork was in hand. Fingers crossed that it all goes well for you.
All transcripts have now been submitted. Thank you for replying. Your story at least gives me hope.
