Submitting my ACT score...?

I took the ACT Plus Writing test on September 12, and my Writing score still isn’t posted online. I need to send my ACT to colleges ASAP…but I can’t do that until the Writing score is posted, right? (Is there any way I can send colleges the Composite and the four subscores, and send the Writing later? …That’s impossible isn’t it)

And thank you in advance to everyone who could reply!

Don’t wait. The writing score is not critical and they will send the full score report to the school.

If you order scores sent by ACT, it will not send them until writing score is available, which will likely be very soon. You could send an email to the college admissions office providing the scores you have and stating the official scores will be sent as soon as there is a writing score. That will not count as an official score but many colleges bend their rules a little to allow late submission as long as you let them know you have scores and what they are. An issue you may want to determine is whether sending now is actually needed. I am assuming you are concerned about an early action or early decision application. Be aware that for many of those the scores can arrive after the application deadline and a number even accept Nov SAT test scores for their EA and Ed programs, so check with colleges to determine if you are actually required to send anything immediately.

Yes, some schools do give you a grace period of a couple weeks or even longer for support documents. However, it is going to be the same score you are going to send anyway. There is no reason to delay the order. If you have one EA/ED school that has a straight deadline, you need to do that as soon as possible anyway.
