Hi guys,
It’s my first time dealing with tax returns so I’m very unfamiliar with the process. My parents have their tax returns but it has the bolded words, “Client Copy” across each page of the tax returns. Is it still alright to submit it or do I have to retrieve a copy that doesn’t have those words written across the pages?
Thanks for any insight!
@Maggallina I don’t think that verbiage will matter as long as the returns are signed. You must provide signed copies even if the original returns were filed electronically.
That won’t matter, that is only to indicate it isn’t the copy that should be filed to the IRS. Yes, you need to have just the 1st 2 pages sent together as well as pg 2 needs a real signature so must be printed, signed & scanned back in. I made the mistake of sending just the signature page 2 in, but they must have pg 1 with it as that pg has the SS# on it for identification. Of course, they need the entire return but most have electronic signatures so need to have that page signed. Hope this makes sense.
