Signing Tax Returns!

I have a few questions about tax returns...

1) When they say documents are "due on" or "send by," does this mean it's regarding postmark date or date of sale?

2) We had a paid preparer file our tax return, but we only receive a copy of which he did not sign. Is it necessary to sign the tax return for IDOC and other financial aid sites?

3) Are my parents required to sign the tax return copy even though it's not self-prepared. If so, where do they sign? Do I need both parents?

Thanks!

I would err on the side of caution and mail them in time for them to arrive by the due date. Yes, your parents should make a copy of their returns and sign them on page 2, where indicated. It is necessary for both to sign if they filed a joint return.
