how is your UW GPA higher than W? lol. :-P

it sounds like a reach, but it's an ivy, so they're all reaches for basically everyone. good luck :o)
i'm having a similar problem, I'm in the ranges for all the schools, but they're all still reaches!! gaahh!

I have a question, what does school semi-finalist for the AMC mean?

It sounds like you are really dedicated to tutoring and a lot of extracurriculars. I'd say Yale's a reach, ditto-ing what marphlik just said. But it's definitely worth the shot.
Good luck.

Semi-finalist doesn't mean anything, unless your school or area has its own awards for certain scores on the AMC or AIME.

You have a lot of extracurriculars, but you hold barely any leadership positions in any of them. That 1500+ hours of volunteering is very impressive however.

Your SAT IIs aren't great (I believe that you're below the 80th percentile in all three, if not lower), but the rest of your application is solid.

Yale is a reach, but you have about as good a shot as any I'd say.

AP British Literature

^ i dont think thats an actual AP course unless your schools MAKES UP its own ap courses without approval from college board

which i HIGLY doubt

ok let me clarify a few issues. My UW gpa is 3.94 and my weighted is 4.81.

I was one of two people in my school to qualify for AIME testing.

My work at kumon is not volunteer work but rather regular employment with pay.

I did, however, leave out my 150+ hours volunteering at a lab in a cancer center.

I'm below 80th percentile for Math IIC, about 85th for USH, and 89th for Chem.

And, yes, I did check my school class selection packet and it is entitled AP British/English Literature. And, yes, there is an AP test for it that were are preparing for.

Thanks for all your input keep it coming!!

^ that would be jus regular AP English Literature and Composition.

not AP British Literature

ok gotcha well my school is weird like that.

although my school is nonranking, im about 3/425 in a pretty competitive and well known high school

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuump

In everywhere other than HYP. Can't really say about those three.

thx anyone else!

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuumppppppppppppp

bump any input please

u mention a number of published writings, which is very impressive. what kind of writings are those exactly? they may be very helpful to you in University apps.

4 of them are essay format, 3 are poetry

Creative Communications Competitions accept about 45% of all entries...plus, once you're published in there, lots of other contests won't let you submit the same work.

Found this out the hard way. :(

yea same hahahah

anyone else have any input?

please???????????????

If you're really curious, collegeconfidential offers a great "chancing" service for under $100 =). I'd say your chances are about the same as most students applying to top schools like Yale. Have you considered retaking one (or more) of your SAT II's?
