Subway pass

Hey,
does anyone know what is the best student public transport card to get. I mean those that you get for a whole semester. Which one is the one most of the students get. Which is the best one to get, taking into account price and coverage.
Thanks

The Subway pass is the way to go, and is what most student get. You dont need a commuter rail card, or a ferry pass, or even a bus pass. The subway pass gives you access to all 4 T Lines, including the silver line. Ordering it directly through BU gives you an 11% discount and delivery to your mail room each month, very convenient. Any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks,
I read that the subway pass has some limitations ? which are these? Is it true you cant get on some of the stations?

The restrictions affect people who travel from, or to the end of the D-Riverside line, which is really far away from BU. There is also an exit fare at those stations. For a BU student like me however, the "restrictions" don't affect us one bit. The new subway passes are called "charlie cards", and can even be used with the brand-new fare boxes at some of the T stations. Fyi, you can even take a free guest on sundays with your T pass.

As GOBU says, the farther out you go, the more expensive the cost at that station. It costs more to come in from Braintree or the far end of Newton. The regular T pass covers the area you'll need.

Don't bother with the combo pass. That includes buses. You may want to take a bus occasionally, like the 66 that runs through Brookline to Harvard Square - more direct than taking the T in to Park and out to Harvard Sq - but not $100 worth a month.

One other caveat - these are monthly passes, not semester-long.

They are monthly passes but you pay for them by the semester.
