Successful (5 Score) AP Psychology Self-Studiers, How Did You Do It?

Hey guys, this is my first time self-studying for an AP exam. I am extremely nervous about this, and I’ve already bought a bunch of prep books:

  • Myer’s Psychology Textbook
  • Barron’s
  • 5 Steps to a 5
  • REA Crash Course

Will these be enough to obtain a 5 on the AP Psychology exam? What order should I complete them in? Do I just read them, or should I be taking notes/extensive outlining? Do I need to make flash cards to memorize anything? Will 4-5 months of preparation be enough for this exam?

All tips are appreciated! Thank you so much.

While not a strategy I’d recommend, I did it over a weekend with Barron’s.

@skieurope Wow, that’s amazing! What did you do with the Barron’s book? How did you go through each chapter? For example, did you simply read, outline, or highlight? Did you simultaneously make flashcards? What else did you do to supplement your learning?

I read the book, took the practice tests, and that was it. Like I said, not a strategy I’d recommend for others.
