Successful UF transfer appeal

I transferred from Santa Fe to UF CLAS in Spring 2020. My GPA wasn’t the best, I had a 3.0 GPA. I transferred for Economics but was initially denied. My required courses for that major were Micro, Macro, Stats and Survey of Calc. I got two B’s in micro and macro and a C in stats. When I submitted my application on September 15th I was enrolled in Survey of Calc. I was denied on October 31st but appealed my decision that week. During my Statistics class, my professor got sick and was absent for about half the semester back in Fall 2018. With official documentation and a letter written from the Department of math, I submitted an appeal and mentioned I was still in Survey of Calc and had an A in it. I heard back from them and mentioned they would reconsider my application if I were to get an A in Calc bringing my pre-requisite GPA to their required 3.0. I submitted my official transcripts on December 15th 2019 and because of the holidays I heard back on January 2 with my official acceptance. The first week of school was hectic as I was not able to attend orientation and had to choose my class schedule the second day of classes since I was recently admitted to the school but not processed by the system. If you are trying to transfer I would take a look at UF’s transfer page and see what their minimum GPA is for your specific major and also the GPA for the pre-req classes, the GPA standards could be different depending on your major.
