Hello,
I'm a Junior in High School - here is some of my background info:

Frosh/Soph. year: took all ''college prep classes'' -no AP or Honors. 4.00 GPA both years.
Junior Year: 2 College prep classes; 2 AP (AP Lang. Comp, and AP US Hist.) 1 Honors: H Chem. Current GPA: 4.33

Extra Curricular: Speech and Debate, CSF, President of the Junior class, 1 year of Track, in Leadership, organized Speech Contest for students w/ Eng. as second language, on school newspaper.

Anyway, I took the PSAT's and I got a 1320/2400. I am really embarrassed. I do work hard in school, and am really worried that the actual SAT's will kill me and my changes for going to a UC -- any advice/tips/personal anecdotes?

The PSATs are only an indicator of how well you would do on the SAT in your junior year. I did really badly on them (I got something like 180 = 1800/2400) but my real scores fell around the modest 2100. I wouldn't be too concerned, just prepare for the real SATs.

i suggest purchasing the blue book. Also, depending on what college you want to go to, improving your score to a 2100+ might not be necessary. bonne chance!

It's a tricky test. It was quite difficult for me, but I am confident that I certainly do know how do tackle those problems. I will try purchasing the book - does the book really help?

Also, would the ACT be a better choice for me to devote my energy to?

My college choices, just in case you guys are wondering:
UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Davis
