Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum. So, I’m an upcoming college student this year, and I decided to take BS IT(my first option was BS Nursing but I have a heart illness so, the course is not compatible to my health), the problem is, I took the STEM strand in highschool. Will I be fine in the first year? Are there many things that I will have to catch up(lessons, topics etc.)? Respect post. Thank you (•‿•).
You should talk to your advisor at the college you will be attending. It is hard to be sure without knowing what you have already taken in high school, and what the requirements are for your intended major.
However, I do not expect that you will have a problem. You will of course need to take some computer and math classes, but that is what college is for.
A change in majors is very common. It sounds like you are switching before even taking your first college course, which should allow you to take the right classes right from day 1.
