Suffolk to UMass Amherst, actual fringe student, (please CHANCE me :) )

Currently: Ending 2nd Semester at Suffolk University, Undeclared

Looking to transfer to: UMass Amherst as an education major, journalism as a backup

High School GPA: 2.7

SAT (1600): 1270

SAT (2400): 1860

College GPA: 3.2 - 3.3 (I had a 3.0 first semester, all my second semester teachers reported A’s or B’s for the midterm report, do they average that in?)

Credits I will have at the end of this semester: 30 (Is this something they can see, or should I have mentioned it in my personal statement?)

Personal Statement: Average

In addition, I have two years experience as a preschool teacher and TA in a first grade class, which I mentioned in my personal statement. Not sure how much diversity plays a role in their decision, but I am also a male, which I know is a rarity in the early education field, figured it was worth mentioning.

Thank you to anyone that bothers to read this and give their feedback, I would appreciate responses from fellow students who were on the fence that I am and got accepted or rejected, but any feedback or acceptance stories are welcome. Thank you!

Sorry, I forgot about my only AP class in high school, I would actually bring over 34 credits.
