Can anyone give me some information on this school. I never heard of it till yesterday when i saw the boston schools thread and did some research. Seems like a decent school in a great area of Boston.

I looked at their career section and they have some decent companies at career fairs.

Putnam investments
Ernst and Young
Grant Thornton
JP Morgan

and it said something about their career office coordinating with northeastern's and Boston U, which seems interesting and benificial.

Are the academics hard. I prefer i challenge. Im not exactly the hardest working academic person, but i am smart. Maybe everything is to easy, most probably i am just lazy.

And if anyone knows that transfer averages for suffolk and maybe some of the other local biz oriented schools like brandies, babson etc.

My son is going to be a sophomore at Suffolk this fall. He wasn't thrilled about going there, but the scholarship he got was too good to pass up! He went in the fall in the honors govt, politics and the law track.
He ended up in the honors program and switched his major to Asian History after taking a Japanese history course just for fun. He takes a lot of honors and upper level classes. He ended up loving it at Suffolk, and doesn't want to transfer after all. Most of his classes have under 15 students. This fall one of his Chinese History Classes has 3 students in it. He's also taking Chinese and Japanese languages.
He met a group of friends living in the dorm the first year, and is now moving into an apartment on Beacon Hill, with a roommate.

All his professors have been ivy league graduates and he feels like he's getting a great education. He stayed after his classes to talk with professors for up to an hour several times a week. He says they are VERY caring.
It has been a very good experience for him so far, it does help that he found his passion with Asian history and enjoys his classes and professors.
If there is anything else specific you would like to know about Suffolk, I'll ask him for you.

I am transferring out of Suffolk (I just finished my freshman year there, and I will be attending a different university in the fall). I was in the honors program and I did not feel as if the coursework was challenging enough to justify the cost of the school. I also had a large scholarship that increased after Fall semester because my grades were good.
It really depends on what your major is. My double major (Psych and Spanish) didn't have the best programs, but Suffolk is great for Political Science and History. I am assuming you're interested in the Business school, which is decent but there are better schools in the area-Babson, Bentley, etc.
The school, just like anything else, is what you put into it. I loved the location, loved my friends, loved the dorms--but I really wanted a campus, a school that had more school spirit and a bigger athletics department, and a school that had more kids live on campus.
I don't regret going there at all and I had a really good time, but it is expensive and I know a lot of kids that are leaving. There were 19 kids on my floor, and 7 are transferring to other schools.
If there's anything you'd like to know, please ask! My roomie was in the Business school and I could probably help you out with anything else you need to know.
