For some reason, I don't like using the college match finder, rather than asking people for what they prefer and advice. I studied in India for 10th - 12th. I am a US Citizen, South Asian male.

First of all, I don't have any strict preferences on the type of college. After getting some suggestions I might look 'em up and decide. :)

Since I studied in India and am going to graduate here, I am not a resident of any state.
I need financial aid. I can pay probably around 15K - 20K a year at the most.

I have looked at some UC's and CSU's, as well as some others. But I wanted to see if anyone can suggest me other colleges that'll be at par with my academic performance.

Hey anvesh, I strongly suggest Georgia Tech; PennState; UIUC; Purdue. These are great engineering colleges.

Purdue and Drexel both seem to be good fits.

UCs won’t be affordable for you given $55000 cost and no aid for OOS.

have you looked at this [A+ Options for B Students | Top National Universities | US News Best Colleges](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/a-plus)
Since you are a US citizen, you will be eligible for federal aid /loans as necessary.
start by = where you want to live, big city/small city, proximity to family.
And then look for major rankings in the school.
There are other websites where you can plug in your test scores/gpa/major and they will get you college list. I would suggest public state universities, if your family is going to move back to the country, perhaps you can qualify for instate tuition after a year.
UCs will be tough with that gpa.

@mrinal: u think i’ll be able to get into those colleges and get financial aid? Wow.

@girl4: i dont know much about drexel, how is it?

@waverly: yeah i know, but how bout csu’s?

@fall2016: yeah i have, but is it reliable?

Definitely look at Mich State, Purdue and University of Illinois UC! LoyolaU in Chicago might interest you as well for aid.

Drexel could be a fit. Keep in mind that Rutgers gives amazing financial aid opportunities.
