Suggest some LAC's

I'm a rising senior, and I was only going to apply to the UC's and maybe a few ivies. After reading through some of the threads here I've gotten interested in small liberal arts colleges. Can anyone suggest some good ones if i'm planning to study history or maybe even art history. Thanks!

For Art History, Williams is practically legendary. History is generally strong at most LACs - figure out what else you are looking for in a college and go from there.

If you want to stay in-state, look at Pomona and Claremont McKenna.

There are quite a few small liberal arts colleges with good art history and as ffs says most all have strong history departments. Specifically for art history I'd recommend: Williams, Wesleyan, Hamilton, Bard, Oberlin, Skidmore, Conn College, Kenyon. If you are female Bryn Mawr, Smith, Barnard.

Williams is especially well known in the field as many of its graduates have gone on to prominent positions in museums across the country, including LA County Museum. There are three very good museums on or near campus which offer hands on curating experience and internship opportunities are extraordinary.

For history or art history and top LACs, I would definitely take a close look at Haverford, Bryn Mawr (if you are female), and Williams.

Note that Haverford and Bryn Mawr have a close cooperative relationship, so HC students (men and women) can major at BMC (and vice versa). And, plenty do. As a result they share resources, so BMC has a great art history depart. and HC has a fantastic music dept. (not relevant for you, but helpful in understanding the relationship).
