You can always check the housing site for floor plans and such. Anyway, features unique to a suite: larger area, direct entrance (no lobby or interior hallways), shared bathroom (vs. communal), and shared living room (vs. none).

From what I know, it's not first come first serve.

not first come first serve. just apply by the deadline.

and i love plazas as opposed to suites. cause u get your own bathroom..and i dont know. de neve is just so nice haha. you should take a housing tour

does the plaza cost more than res hall (might be a stupid question but sry)? and, if i send my SIR early, do i get priority over others for housing?

The singles in Rieber Vista are really small -- as in, half the size of a double, which technically makes sense, but standing in one feels much more cramped than it sounds.

Does theme housing have mandatory activities? Is the theme always in the same location each year? It seems that some of the theme floors were in DeNeve this year and some were in a res hall. Are you more likely to get a double if you're on a theme floor? Or more likely to get a triple? Or no difference?

I'm pretty sure that requesting theme housing won't make much difference on whether or not you end up in a double or triple. To answer your question about where the theme housing is, I believe each type of hall (and possibly each building) has some sort of theme housing meaning, if you request theme housing as a preference, you could still end up in any of the buildings.

ckings, thanks! Do you know if the themes stay in the same buildings year after year. This year the community service theme is in DeNeve, does that mean it'll be in DeNeve next year or is there a possibility it could be in a res hall next year? I posted the question in "Ask Housing" website, and got a weird, canned responses.

Yeah, I personally don't like the "Ask Housing" website or the "Ask Financial Aid" website... they never seem to answer the questions that I ask... Anyway, I'm not too sure about how theme housing is assigned to floors. I'm assuming that there's a community service theme floor in both the res halls and the plazas - at least that makes the most sense to me. But, I'll definitely double check with one of the Housing directors the next time I give a housing tour.
