We will be visiting Ithaca for the first time next week and I am looking for dining suggestions on or off campus to help my son get a feel for the area. Also, any must sees in addition to the gorges?

You MUST go to Collegetown Bagels. It’s on the commons, and a perfect representation of the community that is here.
Other good restaurants are:
Rulloff’s in collegetown (GREAT story behind it)
Ithaca Ale House in the commons
Mahogany Grill in the commons (pricey but worth it)

Also, drive or walk around Cornell. Even though you’re not going there, student’s at IC spend a lot of time at Cornell. It’s good to get a feel for it.

Those all sound great. Just make sure you hit the commons. There are many great places to eat. Check out either Joe’s or The Boatyard. Also see the lake and some of the waterfalls. Ithaca is just gorgeous!

Thanks for the suggestions! IC is my son’s #1 choice right now so we look forward to our visit.

Go to the fountain near the admissions office and look down the hill towards the lake. Doesn’t matter what the weather is, it’s always a great view!

Ithaca Bakery for lunch and any place in the Commons for dinner. Check out the Farmer’s Market for breakfast, very cool place.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We arrive in a couple of days and look forward to exploring.

Very exciting! What is your sons major?
