Suitcase school?

I have a friend with two kids at TCNJ and they both come home every weekend. Does most kids go home for the weekend?

I am a frehman here and so far have not gone home once…for the most part I would say about 98% of the people on my floor remain on campus for the weekends…there’s always lots of activities going on and everyone has gotten so close that no one really wants to go home that often…hope that helped!

Thanks for your input Hazeleyes

My freshman son has been home twice since school started, once for Labor Day to fish with his father, once on a Friday night to meet his sister’s college boyfriend, up from Louisiana to stay with us. He returned on Saturday morning. No plans to come home in the immediate future.

I think that there’s plenty to do, although my son’s club sport takes up a fair amount of his time on the weekend.

To put it into perspective a little bit clearer, there’s roughly 60 or so kids on our floor, and maybe 2 or 3 will go home per weekend. I’m a freshman btw. It’s nothing noticeable, believe me.

As mentioned before, most people stay during the weekends. The only exception to this are the 3-4 day weekends and holiday breaks.

Very true, the place pretty much empties out on holiday breaks, but thats it

The students that I know who are attending TCNJ seem to come home on weekends only during their freshman year. Once they begin to get involved in campus activities they only come home for the long weekends (it basically empties when there is a long weekend). If you become involved early on you will find friends similar to you, who are more inclined to stay instead of going back to their couch back home. It is what you make it and one persons experience is not anothers.
