On average, how many suitcases does a college student bring if he/she were to be flying to their designated college? Any experience from anyone who flew to college?

Generally, students don't bring to much right? Last thing I need is to overpack.

I wouldn’t personally know… But I would think one carry-on sized suitcase, your normal carry-on bag, then you would check one MASSIVE suitcase… and maybe another suitcase. Remember, once you get there you can buy SOME things from the local Target or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. A lot of colleges also let you mail things ahead; if you can do that, I would only bring the carry-on bag, carry-on suitcase, and the one massive suitcase on the plane.

I flew to college with two medium-sized suitcases, mostly for clothes, electronics and personal items. There are a few bulky items I decided to buy at school: bedding, a winter coat and snow boots amount them (I did bring a few sweaters though).

Kudos for being concerned about overpacking. Most students bring waaay too much stuff.
