<p>I got accepted into SAMS</p>
<p>I sent out my confirmation letter on 5/8 and I live in TX. It only took two days for my acceptance letter to get here so…</p>
<p>My son got into SAMS (rising Jr.). His school does grades a bit differently Letter Grades, no class rank until senior year. I don’t have his PSATs in front of me but he did decent in English, excellent in Math. All his extracurriculars involve sports. He coaches little people hockey (age 4-8), plays hockey & baseball & refs & umps both. His recommendations were excellent & his essay was about living with a disabled parent (Me). Middle class (not dirt poor, far from rich). He can’t wait to go meet new people & spread his wings a bit. We’re from Buffalo, NY.</p>
<p>Anyone who has done this before… what should he bring for the dorms? I’m afraid I’m over doing it a bit.</p>
<p>@JMEMOM I wouldn’t worry too much about dorm items until we get the handbooks.</p>

<p>and Organized Chaos… once you get to Carnegie you’ll probably won’t even want to go home. and plus it’ll probably be awkward for everyone being somwhere new… something even more awkward… being the first one there lol.</p>
<p>^Yeah, I pretty much figured that out. And yes, it would be VERY awkward being the first one there which is why I orchestrated my arrival at a not-too-early-but-not-too-late time. LOL. So, I take it that you are a rising senior? Anyways, it doesn’t really matter, we will all be meeting each other in a few days!!! We should all wear a sticker that says ‘Hello My Name is: <em>Enter screen name here</em>’ just so we can easily identify ourselves…but then again, maybe not. :)</p>
