<p>So I'm thinking of applying to colleges soon and I was wondering what I should put under summer activities. Over the summer, I would tutor kids, sometimes for money and sometimes for free. It wasn't through any organization so I didn't get hours for it. Also, I would upgrade and repair airsoft guns in order to make money. </p>
<p>Should I mention this on my college application. I seriously doubt an admissions officer would be impressed, let alone understand the airsoft part. Thanks for all the help.</p>
<p>It’s running your own business, even if it is small. That’s a very good thing. You invented your own job and got people to give you money for doing it. That’s more impressive than flipping burgers, unless you set up your own restaurant.</p>
<p>Now, scale will have something to do with how you present this, as there’s a vast difference between repairing two guns vs. inventing an awesome new upgrade and selling a thousand. Consult your college counselor on the best way to do this.</p>
