summer after sophmore year

what other differences are you talking about other than CTY being a little more challenging? Everyone's bring these differences up but they're not elaborating on them. kinda silly.

Yes, you're right. This whole thread has become rather silly and has moved away from what the point was intended to be--finding programs of substance for students in their post-sophomore year summer. CTY programs will certainly stand or fall on their merits, but shouldn't be summarily dismissed as worthless.

no, i was just wondering what these profound differences were that were implied? what are they! lol.

i did CTY... CTY 5-6th grade for two years, and the older students for three. i took ethics (my only challenging course, because i hadn't read any philosophy before that course), logic: principles of reasoning (i took the pretest and got a near 100%), and crafting the essay this year (knew all the stuff we learned already)...
moreover... when i tested in fifth grade... i scored really high on the PLUS, within the top ten of the girls in 5th grade on the math section... and again in seventh grade when i tested, i got into SET...
the courses don't really challenge me, and although the social experiance is incredible, i feel like i'm getting too old for CTY...

anyway... can we get off the topic of CTY?

ummm......TASS..what do you think of that? also, im planning on just working, volunteering, and maybe taking a class at a CC after soph year. no actual program. i think this would be a good idea. after eleventh grade if i dont get into tasp (i mean WHEN i dont get into TASP) im gonna volunteer at a camp for struggling kids.

I was reading about TASS but it seems that it is primary targeting African students or those who want to learn about Africa.
